- Q: What does FM stand for?
Never for the pledge of allegiance, but always for the Fucking Mountains - Q: What is FM?
FM is a free bimonthly lifestyle magazine focusing on music, arts, fashion and culture. We are a Denver-based independent mag with strong local distribution and some national. - Q: How do I subscribe?
Well, FM is free and distributed widely all over Colorado so why bother? That is, unless you’re a shut-in or in prison, then you should check out our subscription info.
Note to Businesses: We do sell special retail subscriptions to potential distributors. Check out our subscription info for details. - Q: How do I get in touch with you?

Tuyet: “Hey, Tony, I was thinking about starting a magazine.”
Tony: “Word.” - Q: What is Automatica Media?
AM is the other half of FM. It is a fully independent design and marketing firm that handles our layout, branding, and promotions. Contact: am [at] fm-mag.com - Q: What is Literary Youth Publishing?
LYP, Inc. is the company that owns FM Magazine and Automatica Media. - Q: I’m a writer/photographer/illustrator/artist/general superstar. How do I submit something/pitch a story/work for you guys?
We’re always in need of good writers, photographers, illustrators, and so forth. But we can be kind of picky about who we end up working with/what articles we accept, so keep that in mind when contacting us.
We accept unsolicited submissions/story pitches for any section, short fiction pieces, and, on occasion, we will take on new columnists. Please refer to our submissions page first before emailing us.
ADVERTISING
- Q: Where can I get ad info?
Refer to our media kit or email us at ads [at] fm-mag.com. - Q: What is your circulation?
We print 5,000 copies every other month with a readership of about 10,000–15,000. - Q: How is it that your readership bigger than the number of magazines that you print?
Well, smarty-pants, our readership is an estimate based on the fact that the mag is distributed at many “waiting room” type locations: salons, bars, restaurants, and so forth. Places where one issue will get passed around and read by many. Also, a lot of the magazines end up on people’s coffee tables and in bathrooms—you know, as reading material—which usually means that each issue gets looked at by more than one set of eyes. - Q: How did you get [insert fancy company here] to advertise?
We asked them very nicely. - Q: I want to help you sell ads for a commission.
That’s fantastic news! Email us at ads [at] fm-mag.com

We run a mouse through a maze and let god decide.
